Not Happy

Kirra is not at all happy.

Dene066

Reason being, we have a work force in our home, changing our central heating from solid fuel to that of Electric Storage Heating.  The upheaval should last until the end of the week (if all goes well) which is just as well, as the weather is due to become much colder over the weekend.

Spring – Fickle

Spring over here and you will see it can be rather fickle.

Glorious sunshine

Who You Meet

When out walking, it is interesting who you meet along the way.

201110291502_00143

This morning, Kirra and I met up with a couple who had (2) ruby Cavaliers (mother and daughter Cavaliers) and immediately they all took an interest in each other as well as we their respective owners in getting to know one another.

Meeting folk and their dogs is always wonderful and only adds to the joy of dog walking.

St Patricks Day

As many of you will know, my beautiful Kirra was born in Ireland.

Dad’s Got a New Gadget

Dad and his gadgets.  His mobile phone got water damage, after we got caught in a deluge of rain.  So he looks for something more suitable on the internet.

Kirra - January 09

And this is what he found.

Yes a Camera, Mobile Watch – all combined with a keypad and dual sim,– so all he need do is fit it to his wrist (like an ordinary watch) and that means he has more spaces in his pockets for my many treats and of course the essential poo bags.

Military Training Zone

Living so close to a Military Training Area, does mean the misfortune of hearing guns and the sound echoing throughout the moors can be distressing for my Kirra.

Photo0346

Hence, sometimes she remains on a leash, as soon as she hears the guns, her intention is to get back home quickly.  Hopefully she will get used to the sounds and that she will not come to any harm.

Has anyone had similar response from their pets, and how did they deal with it.

Birthday Girl

My Irish Princess is 4 today.  This is the 1st photo I received of my then puppy when she lived in Ireland.  As you can see I fell in love with her immediately.

Kirra-baby

She had to travel on (2) ferries to get to me and the weather was stormy conditions – but she made it safely and was a joy to finally see her.  She was in a travel cage for the journey and now she has a fabric travel carrier, which is huge, although collapses for easy transport.  She still loves her fabric travel carrier and often looks on it as her quiet comfort zone.

How the years have flown over and throughout, Kirra has brought so much happiness into my life, and indeed all that she meets.

I’m bored Dad, look into my eyes.

Now take me to the park and afterwards the pet shop for some treats.

Exhausted

After walking up the hill, both Kirra and I need a short breather.

The park is always inviting, it is just where it was situated (up the hill).

Time Out

We all need to take time out, from our hectic life.

Otfeb 019

And my Kirra clearly shows, what better way, than to take in the cool breeze whilst relaxing on the lawn.

Leap Year

It’s leap year and the day when a Lady can propose to a man.

I guess I shall have to find a Lady, in the hope that she will propose marriage, I still live in hope – although the leap years have been many and no such opportunity has arisen.

IMG00033-20111015-1201

Mind you, she will have to be one very special lady, as she will have to compete with my Irish Princess – Kirra – always the love of my life.

Camouflage

Remember the Autumn?

201110081317_00086

My Kirra was able to camouflage beautifully.

This photo was taken with my o2 xda exec, an oldie cellphone with a 1.3mp camera – but a large screen (such is the eyesight of aged, and the need for larger, rather than compact cellphones.

Here is a image of a o2 xda exec, note the swivel screen, still a great phone with a host of features including playing stereo music from built in music.  It may be antique (like me) but its still going strong.

o2

I love how Kirra is able to blend in with the autumn leaves, I just wish she would not bring them back with her – on her tail.  She seems to sweep them up as she goes along.

Abbey Colour

The joy of colour (even in winter) is evident as Kirra walks the Abbey grounds.

DIY

I thought Kirra was doing a bit of diy under the desk.

Alas she was having a wee snooze.

Scottish Trail

Here is Kirra walking alongside the loch, although the loch is out of the photo.

005

She loved the location and racing off in search of new scents.  Alas the isolation of the isle, meant moving to the mainland.

I Wonder

We all have facial expressions, and my Kirra is no exception.

Photo0293

I just wonder, what she is thinking?

Tuesday, 21 February 2012

Sad today

I am sad today.

011

Dad says it’s too dangerous to go for our normal morning walk, as it’s very icy both on the roads and pavements and neither of us wish to fall.

I keep looking out of the window and it looks as if it will be the same throughout the day.  Short walks are not as enjoyable, but they are safe.

Whatever, you are doing today, stay safe and warm.

Fatigue

As you can see my Kirra is eager to enjoy the park.

Photo0370

Alas, her owner (me) is somewhat fatigued, hence the distance between us.

What a Day

I knew my wee princess was feeling off colour, when she beckons me early in the morning to attend the garden.  Her wee tummy was a little off and therefore the need of grass to remedy the situation was evident, and of course plenty of TLC.

The elements of the morning was not a day in which to venture outdoors, gale force winds (which nearly blew down my gardening hut) and torrents of rain.

kirra3

Kirra in her rain soaked wax coat clearly shows, it was not the best of days to go exploring, but she loves her walks (whatever the weather) and so one must oblige.

Later in the day it calmed somewhat, with sunshine and although quite cold it meant a more enjoyable afternoon walk.

What ever you are doing this weekend, may it be one of sharing with your loving and loyal companion.

When I was Young

Here is a photo of Kirra when she was around 8 months old.

Tobermory - December 2008 030

How time flies, when you are having fun, and whilst the coat will not fit, she still has abundance of fun and eager to explore.

Ireland

As some of you may know, my Kirra was born in Ireland.

A beautiful country, of wonderful people and even more so, they brought me, my Irish Princess.

I will have to buy Kirra another rain coat.
