Do you understand?

Sometimes trying to understand Kirra is not easy.  She looks at you in such a way and of course this could be walks, food, water or just attention.

She has my undivided attention most of the time, however, I can be guilty due to distractions from time to time.

I am busy getting ready for another session of dialysis, so I hope on Friday to have a new photo of my Kirra after her pampering session of over 3 hours.

Post Box

Our wee post box, situated within the village and an ideal excuse  for Kirra to see if any other dogs are in the location.

As I write, my Kirra is having a grooming session with the young lady in attendance and so she is being pampered.

Waiting

Waiting is not something Kirra is known for.  Her look does say it all.

Of course, I know my place and ensure that I respond immediately.

Dog Grooming

It has been sometime since my Kirra had a professional grooming, with my being in hospital and ongoing dialysis. 

Kirra is due to have a mobile dog groomer coming to our home on Wednesday afternoon so it will be interesting to see how she reacts.

If all goes well, I intend to ensure Kirra has grooming every 7 weeks or so.

Sitting Pretty

How pretty my sweet Kirra looks, and her pose does attract admiring glances and attention from those she meets along the way.

Christmas Day

Christmas Day and a wonderful day for a walk.

Snow and New Coat

As you can see, we have had a wee drop of snow and an ideal opportunity to try out my new coat.

I think my dad is sooooo jealous of my coat, but then I am a Princess. -x-

Winter

Kirra and I woke to yet another dusting of snow.  It was quite cold and icy in places. So here is a photo to let you see.  Enjoy your weekend.

Inspection

Kirra loves to inspect anything she finds interesting.

Winter

Winter frost appeared this morning, and whilst Autumn still attempts to retain its status the frost can be appealing and Kirra loves these days.

Snow

Well just a little dusting.  However Kirra is waiting for more to follow.

Death in a Foreign Land

 

As Sunday is a time of Remembrance, I wrote this poem for those who never returned.

DEATH IN A FOREIGN LAND

Age, not of life
They travelled of duty
Men of many
They answered
The call.

Far off land
Where guns and steel
Lay alongside
The many
Who had fallen
Their life
Devoid of dreams.
 
Rich in beauty
Allenheads by sight
Those who died
Remembered
Names for all
Who can spare a moment
Reflect of silence
War Memorial
This place
So proud.

As the sound of birds
Echo over the land
The sun, her rays
Awaken all
Who stop and visit
This land, so quiet
Only the birds in flight
As if on display
Fly past the scene
Of those who died
A death in a foreign land
We should never forget
Their names

Water

Kirra believes water is for drinking (only) and therefore likes to keep a safe distance from this wee brook.

Frost of Day

The frost of last year, is looking closer each day as the cold temps become evident, at least Kirra has nice fur coat to keep her warm, and of course her cozy luxury coat when its raining or really cold.

Just an update, snow has arrived, at least up on the moors, which we can see from our home.  I guess the snow shovel and gloves and thermals will have to have their cobwebs removed.

Dad and Hospital

My dad had to go to hospital early this morning, his appointment with the Cardiologist, and boy was it soooo cold with a sharp frost.

Of course, I protected the home with my due skills of observation and alert to every sound.

And dad is back on dialysis early on Tuesday afternoon, so that means another alert day and night,

Wise

Kirra has a regal status, where ever she may pose.

We all like to see art, and my Kirra is no exception, she clearly has taken an interest here, although, me thinks, it is because she has an idea this is a cafe too.

Behind every gate, their is an invitation to enter.

Kirra loves when she get’s to this point, it means home is nearby.

When out and about, I feel as if my Kirra is watching me.
